Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do evening appointments?

Yes, I do – please get in touch and I can let you know what days/times are free.

How many sessions will I need?

That’s really difficult to answer as everyone is different. If we meet and have a chat then we can discuss that. What I can say is that you need only ever have as many sessions as you wish and we can work with that.

How much does it cost?

My standard fee is £35 per 50 minute session. I can offer a discounted rate in certain circumstances.

Where are you based?

I use counselling rooms at the New Dawn counselling centre in Beeston.

How do I know it’s going to help?

There are no guarantees as counselling relies on the relationship between counsellor and client, and each relationship is individual. Research has shown time and again that the most significant factor in whether therapy is successful is the relationship. Person-centred counselling places great significance upon the relational aspects of the work we do and I will work hard to create a safe and positive relationship in which you feel able to discuss your difficulties. Although I can’t give you a guarantee of success I can give you an indication of what my previous clients have said. (See below.)

What do previous clients say?

“Thank you for all your help. I feel confident to continue this journey called ‘life’ on my own…”

“Thanks for helping… without you I’d have spent the next 3 years going round in circles.”

“I feel like a new woman and am looking forward rather than dreading getting out of bed.”

Why the dragonfly logo?

The dragonfly symbolises change, beauty and strength and is something I find very inspiring. It signifies to me the human spirit and the possibilities we all have within us.
