Welcome

It can feel daunting to find a therapist. Firstly we’ve made the decision we want to try counselling and then we start on the journey of finding the right counsellor for us! Research indicates that a good relationship with your counsellor is the most important aspect of therapy. So it’s important you look for someone you think you can work with and feel comfortable with.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist working in the Lace Market area of Nottingham. I provide short or long term therapy, or couples counselling in a safe and non-judgmental space. I work with individuals or couples to explore ways to improve their lives and relationships. I trained in person-centred and humanistic therapy as well as solution focused therapy. I have since studied trauma and abuse as well as working extensively with anger and shame. I’m in the process of completing a COSRT Couples Training and finding that immensely rewarding.

I have worked in a local voluntary sector organisation supporting survivors of abuse and within the NHS in Nottingham counselling individuals suffering from anxiety and depression. I am an accredited member of BACP and a trained counselling supervisor. I previously worked in careers work and have extensive experience in designing and delivering training, CPD and personal development workshops in both careers and psychotherapy. I am fascinated by how trauma impacts the brain and affects our psychological well-being but also by the changes that therapy and mindfulness can bring about.

"Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls"
Kahil Gibran

Counselling/Psychotherapy in Nottingham

I provide counselling with an emphasis on supporting you to a greater understanding of yourself and your problems and enabling you to find solutions and ways to cope. As a counsellor I will provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment in which you can work on your difficulties. I am based in Nottingham city centre - in the Lace Market.

Short-term or longer psychotherapy

I have experience of counselling individuals for time limited therapy of 6 or 8 sessions, and of working over longer periods of 3 or 4 months or with some for several years. It all depends on you as an individual and what you are looking to achieve, on what you need to work on and how much you want to invest. I will happily discuss this with you and we can work together to see what is going to help you.

Couples Counselling Nottingham

Many relationships can face difficulties and for a variety of reasons. For many years I've worked with one half of a couple when a relationship is struggling, and often thought "if only the other person was here to discuss this together". I now offer couples therapy for those who want to explore together ways to rebuild a relationship that's broken down, to explore what's going wrong in their relationship, or simply to work through a difficult period with someone who is neutral.

    Mindfulness Nottingham

Over the past two or three years I have become interested in Mindfulness as a method or tool for reducing anxiety and stress. • Supervision in Nottingham

I have more than 4 years experience of providing clinical supervision to qualified and volunteer counsellors. I hold a Certificate in Person-Centred supervision. I work to the BACP Ethical Framework and require all supervisees to be members of BACP, UKCP or equivalent. I enjoy building a supportive supervisory relationship in which the counsellor can reflect upon their practice and develop their skills and experience.

I offer both individual and group supervision.
