“You’ll need coffee shops and sunsets and road trips. Airplanes and passports and new songs and old songs, but people more than anything else. You will need other people and you will need to be that other person to someone else, a living breathing screaming invitation to believe better things.” Jamie Tworkowski
Counselling and supervision in NottinghamHello. I’m Lynsey and I am an accredited counsellor, supervisor and trainer. I work in Wollaton, Nottingham. My counselling room is easily located and within reach of Bramcote, Beeston, Long Eaton, Stapleford, Trowell, West Bridgford and Nottingham city.
I offer person-centred counselling with an emphasis on supporting you to a greater understanding of yourself and your problems and enabling you to find solutions and ways to cope.
We all have times in our lives when we are struggling to cope with something. It may be relationships, depression or anxiety, redundancy, work difficulties or traumatic events. The range of things people come to see me about are as varied as the people I’ve worked with. No problem is too big, nor too small. If it is impacting on your ability to enjoy life, then it's worth spending time to try and change it or resolve the difficulty.
Confidential Supportive ExperiencedAs a counsellor I will provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment in which you can work on your difficulties. I won't provide solutions but will work with you to explore the problems and help you to find your own path.
I am a warm, understanding and non-judgmental person with many years experience working with individuals in a range of settings. I have worked within the NHS, Weightwatchers, the BBC and in law. I have six years counselling experience as well as past experience in education, coaching, career guidance, interviewing and advocacy.
I have my own counselling room in Wollaton, which is quiet, confidential and comfortable. There is space to park outside. There is a bus from Beeston to Nottingham passing the end of the road.
Helping you move forwardAs a counsellor, the best part of my job is meeting people who are unhappy or struggling with something and helping them to find a way forward. I have experience with...
"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing, and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares." Henri J M Nouwen
Take The First StepI recognise how difficult it can be to take that first step… to pick up the phone or to send that email. But… rest assured we’ve all been there! I was once that person looking at a list of counsellors and trying to work out who to ring and also not being sure whether it was going to help or not. Why not give me a call, or email me, and set up a free half hour introductory session and see what you think?
